  • January 19, 2024

Sofitel Saigon Plaza’s sophisticated French inspired luxury in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City is a top address for business and leisure travellers alike.

Located seven kilometers from the international airport, Sofitel Saigon Plaza is smack in the middle of Ho Chi Minh’s business district. It takes about 25 minutes cab-ride to the hotel that is a grand building located on Le Duan Boulevard in District 1. Staying in Sofitel Saigon Plaza puts you right in the thick action of the bustling city and within a short distance of the commercial hub and the entertainment precinct.

The Grand Lobby

The French opulence and charm of Sofitel is markedly noticeable at the grand-lobby of Sofitel Saigon Plaza. Delicate chandeliers are suspended from the high ceiling of the circular lobby.

Chic furniture in the Sofitel brand colours are dotted across the lobby with fresh flower arrangements in the centre. Unique booth style individual reception counters with courteous staff welcome you to the hotel and check-in is swift with the helpful concierge team taking care of the luggage. Floor to ceiling windows in the lobby add to the abundance of natural lighting in the lobby as you stroll around the tastefully appointed foyer.

Rooms

Superior rooms at the hotel are spacious (30 sq.m) with a much acclaimed Sofitel MyBed king size bed. The med-soft bed was perfect for a good night’s rest after along flight and provided for much required lumber support. With soft, feather down pillows, it was a perfect match for a great sleep. Lighting in the room was controlled by the bedside console, with all controls ergonomically placed for guest ease and comfort.

Working in the creative industry and travelling with a bit of camera gear, charging points are an important factor in my travel. It’s imperative to have multiple charging points to charge equipment and I was glad to see wall mounted USB and international charging points in the room.

The room comes with a espresso coffee maker for the mid-afternoon or early morning caffeine fix.
