Star Alliance opens new Guangzhou Terminal 3 lounge
- May 7, 2026
Star Alliance has opened its new lounge at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport’s newly opened Terminal 3, strengthening its premium passenger offering at one of China’s growing international gateways.
The opening follows the launch of Star Alliance’s first Asian lounge in Guangzhou in 2024, with lounge operations now fully transitioned from Terminal 1 to the new Terminal 3 facility.

The new lounge spans approximately 1,400 square metres and offers seating for around 245 guests. A key feature is its 700-square-metre outdoor garden, providing passengers with a rare open-air airport lounge environment before departure. The lounge is open 24 hours a day to support international travellers across varying flight schedules.

Access is available to First and Business Class passengers, as well as Star Alliance Gold members travelling on member airline flights departing from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Terminal 3.
Ten Star Alliance member airlines currently operate from Guangzhou, including Air China, ANA, Asiana Airlines, EGYPTAIR, Ethiopian Airlines, EVA Air, Shenzhen Airlines, Singapore Airlines, THAI and Turkish Airlines. Together, they operate around 1,500 weekly departures to 52 destinations across 10 countries.

The lounge design reflects Lingnan culture and Guangzhou’s natural landscape, with features including a kapok flower-inspired installation and a dedicated tea experience. Facilities include rest areas, sleep pods, private rooms, reading spaces and work zones, while the dining programme features Chinese and Western dishes developed with the Pullman Hotel chef team.
