For my recent business visit to Sydney to attend a conference at the ICC, choosing to stay at the Vibe Hotel Darling Harbour proved to be a smart and seamless decision, writes Harmeet Sehgal.

For business travellers choosing to stay in Sydney CBD in the heart of all the action Vibe Hotel Darling Harbour delivers in spades. The hotel is just a short walk from Sydney’s CBD, making it easy to access major corporate offices, conference centers, and in the proximity of Sydney’s entertainment and dining precincts. Being close to Town Hall Station makes commuting around the city or to and from the airport simple and stress-free.

Outside of business hours, you’ll find yourself right in the middle of one of Sydney’s most exciting areas. Darling Harbour’s award-winning restaurants, cafes, and waterfront bars are perfect for unwinding or entertaining clients. The top convenience however is that the International Convention Centre (ICC) is within walking distance, giving you that extra 15-minute snooze time before gearing up to attend a whole-day conference.

A friendly and familiar welcome

Being recognised at check-in is always a nice touch, but being welcomed back as a familiar guest adds a special layer of warmth. My recent return to a hotel in the TFE Hotel family was exactly that, as the young receptionist greeted me with a friendly ‘welcome back’ and inquired about my day, creating a genuine sense of belonging. The hotel, known for its vibrant colors and immersive design offers 145 stylish rooms and suites all equipped with large televisions and complimentary Wi-Fi. The convenient USB charging points were a great feature, eliminating the usual hassle of charging multiple devices simultaneously.

I stayed in the Executive Suite King, which at a spacious 27 sqm, offering both style and comfort. The suite included a separate lounge area, ideal for relaxing or working, and a Nespresso machine, perfect for those early-morning caffeine fixes. A mini-bar is also available on request.

The bathroom was functional, with a sleek shower and all the necessary amenities, ensuring nothing was too far out of reach for a super-comfortable stay.

Vibe Hotel Darling Harbour’s The Sussex Store is a vibrant on-site restaurant conveniently located next to the lobby. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the menu offers a delightful mix of healthy, locally sourced dishes, along with sharing plates.

Breakfast at Sussex Store is a highlight, featuring an irresistible selection of freshly baked goods and artisanal sandwiches, complemented by an à la carte menu offering a range of hot breakfast options. The Store is also a perfect pit stop for a quick coffee or snack or grabbing something on the go before heading out to meetings.

For a well-deserved post-work cocktail, head to Above 319, the chic rooftop bar that offers an elevated experience with stunning panoramic views of the city. It’s the perfect setting for some R&R, with a vibrant yet sophisticated ambiance. Bright, comfortable seating and loungers create a welcoming atmosphere, while a striking wall collage of colorful flowers and a glowing neon sign illuminate the venue as the evening sets in.

The menu features expertly crafted cocktails and delectable tapas-style dishes, perfect for sharing. Whether you’re unwinding after a day of meetings or entertaining clients, Above 319 offers a refined and memorable experience, combining cool views with stylish décor and is a must-visit destination.

Trying to maintain a fitness routine on business trips? Work out at Vibe Hotel Darling Harbour’s on-site gym. The gym is open 24/7 and equipped with modern cardio machines, free weights, and stretching areas, giving you everything you need for a quick workout before or after a busy day.

If you prefer to relax, head to the hotel’s rooftop infinity pool which is a great place to unwind and take in the views of the Sydney skyline. It’s a peaceful space, with linen-draped cabanas and sunbaked loungers to lay-back and take a few moments to clear your mind and recharge.

The staff are genuinely committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible and are always eager to learn how they can enhance your experience. It exemplifies that exceptional customer service is a continuous journey – every effort made contributes to a better experience for all.

Like many other TFE Hotels I’ve stayed at, Vibe Hotel Sydney Darling Harbour lived up to its reputation, leaving me impressed once again. It now has me wondering—where to next?
