Philippine Airlines upgrades to A330 offering fastest flight to the Philippines

Philippine Airlines has upgraded the aircraft used on its Auckland-Manila non-stop flights to the Airbus A330 aircraft. Starting June 17, passengers will have a more comfortable journey on the fastest flight from New Zealand to the Philippines.
The newer two-engine A330 (309 seats) will accommodate more passengers on the thrice-weekly service and offer a superior inflight experience. The shift to the A330 increases the overall route capacity by 22%, helping to stimulate leisure and business travel and inject NZ$ 13.6 million annually into the New Zealand economy. Kiwis planning to discover summer attractions and travelling on business tothe Philippines will be pleasantly surprised with enhanced cabin amenities of the newly transformed A330.
The Philippine Airline Airbus A330s, feature three new cabin areas with new custom-designed seats fully-equipped with in-seat video monitors as well as on-board Wifi. The result is a more spacious cabin with only 309 seats, offering wider legroom and fewer seats on each row.
Auckland-Manila passengers will now enjoy one of the most luxurious Business Class offerings in the sky, featuring full-flat Business Class seats with privacy dividers, ample shelf and storage space, enhanced reading lights, a pneumatic air cushion with massage functions, and direct access to the aisle for every seat. The RAVE Centric inflight entertainment system offers huge 18.5-inch video screens and over 300 hours of movies, TV and music.
The A330 also introduces a new Premium Economy Class, featuring more legroom, special footrests and extra recline on wider seats in an exclusive private cabin. The bigger 13.3-inch personal video screens and enhanced meal selections on plated dishes promise higher levels of comfort and service.
The Economy Class on the reconfigured A330 has just eight seats per row in a more spacious layout, each with 10.1-inch video screens and a choice of up to 150 movies along with handy new applications for more entertainment, information and reading options.
The airline credits its brand of warm and caring service, together with a fleet of new aircraft and expanding route network, for the decision of global rating organization Skytrax to award a quality 4-Star rating last February to the Philippine flag carrier.
