British Airways to launch new Club World Seat and First Class seat on A350-1000
- May 8, 2018
British Airways is set to launch new premium cabin seats on-board the ULR A350-1000s as they come in to service. The ‘revolutionary’ new seat as Alex Crus put it in a UK Business event “will be something else”.
The seats are tipped to have all aisle access as compared to the current 2-4-2 and cabins will have lower seat density. The airline also has a mock-up cabin built containing test seats. The product will be totally bespoke and availability on aircraft will depend on how soon they can be built.
Alex also mentioned about the new First Class seat which will be a fantastic product and will be a First Class experience of the future. “As the seat itself will no longer be a key differentiator between the cabins – because the new Club World seat is so good – there will need to be a full reinvention of First Class. The implication is that this will only be partly about the seat and partly about everything else in the process such as food and service.” said Cruz.
