Star Alliance strengthens LAX hub connectivity with new transfer centre
- March 25, 2026
Star Alliance has opened a new Star Connection Centre at Los Angeles International Airport, strengthening support for passengers making tight connections between member airlines at one of its busiest North American hubs. The new facility is the alliance’s ninth worldwide and is designed to proactively identify travellers at risk of missing onward flights due to inbound delays.
LAX handles more than 350,000 annual connections between Star Alliance carriers, making it one of the alliance’s most important transfer points. Dedicated agents use specialised software to monitor transfer windows and, where needed, meet passengers at the gate and guide them quickly to their next departure.
Star Alliance said the new centre reinforces its wider push to make multi-airline journeys feel more seamless across its network. In addition to Los Angeles, Star Connection Centres are already in place in Brussels, Chicago, Frankfurt and Toronto, while baggage-focused operations run in Houston, Newark, Washington Dulles and San Francisco.
