  • December 16, 2024

Auckland’s vibrant midtown is set to welcome the highly anticipated debut of Hotel Indigo, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, with a soft opening of 54 rooms starting Monday, 23 December, just in time for the festive season. Located on Albert Street, the 225-room boutique property is gearing up for its full launch in early 2025, following a three-year build.

Exclusive Dining Concepts

Hotel Indigo Auckland will showcase a curated dining experience crafted in collaboration with Australian hospitality design experts, Ingram Advisory. Opening from March 2025, the property’s food and beverage offerings include Bistro Saine, a French-inspired bistro; a café-turned-wine bar; and a sophisticated cocktail bar and lounge, transporting guests to the culinary landscapes of New York, London, and Paris. During the soft opening phase, guests will enjoy complimentary local tastings in the lobby, with the hotel team curating dining recommendations from Auckland’s trendy midtown scene, ensuring an immersive and seamless stay.

Experienced Leadership Team

Leading the charge is General Manager Mathew Simister, a seasoned hotelier with extensive experience at IHG Hotels & Resorts properties in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.

A Historic Connection

Hotel Indigo Auckland celebrates the unique character of its neighborhood, embracing the rich history of its heritage site. The hotel retains the original 1912 façade of “The Motor House,” once home to Dexter and Crozier car importers. This legacy is reflected in the hotel’s design, artwork, and amenities, creating a boutique experience that bridges Auckland’s past with its modern, urban vibe.

Sky-High Amenities

Occupying 27 floors of a 41-storey tower, Hotel Indigo Auckland offers breathtaking views of the city skyline and harbour from the majority of its rooms. The tower also features exclusive sky residential apartments and luxury penthouses, further enhancing its appeal. Conveniently located near key attractions such as the New Zealand International Convention Centre (set to open mid-2025), Sky Tower, and the Britomart and Viaduct precincts, the hotel positions itself as an ideal base for business and leisure travellers alike.

A Growing Australasia Portfolio

Hotel Indigo Auckland becomes the fifth Hotel Indigo property in Australasia, joining its counterparts in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Sydney. As the first of its kind in New Zealand, it sets the stage for a new era of culturally rich boutique accommodations, promising a memorable stay that immerses guests in the local essence of Auckland.
