Air New Zealand posts schedule and operational changes to the holiday period due to engine maintenance requirements
- November 18, 2019
Air New Zealand has posted substantial changes to it’s operational schedule due to the on-going down timing of the Boeing 787-9, Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TEN aircraft engines.
The airline has 10 0f the faulty engines in it’s 787-9 fleet with no replacement / spare engines as back-up. There is significant wait for repairs of the engines. The fault lies with the engines’ high pressure turbine blades that require more frequent maintenance resulting in grounded aircraft.
